WELCOME  BACK  EVERYONE    and the Committee hopes that you enjoy your groups this year

Again, we have members who would like to join a garden group, BUT WE HAVE NOBODY WHO HAS AGREED TO BE THE LEADER.  Pls contact Bev if  you would like to do this.

Other members have indicated that they would like to learn French ..  again nobody has yet offered to lead this.

Our enrolment day  went well on 27 Jan, with fee being reduced  to $15 for this year.  As usual, people can join our U3A at any time of the year.  Application  forms are at the Tourist Centre and the Library.

UPDATE  14.9.2021

Thank goodness  that our 4-wk lockdown is over ..  or, 4 the time being anyway.

Each group's leader will decide when they will reconvene .. and perhaps a different venue may be chosen .. for various reasons.

There will not be an announcement from U3A which would cover all groups.

FOLLOWING  ARE  SOME  CLASS  DECISIONS  WHICH  I  HAVE  JUST  HEARD  OF:-

LINEDANCING and UKULELE can't  restart yet as they need 2 check the current COVID rules for their rented premises.

CANASTA will restart Thursday  16 September at the SPORTIES club, 1.30 pm.  It will be held there weekly until further notice.  PHONE Von Parnell if you are unable to attend .. 0428 210 434.

PILATES AT THE GYM will recommence Thurs  16 Sep  at 11.45 am, ProActive Gym.

BOOK CLUB and MORNING TEA groups are ready 2 restart ..  PHONE the relevant co-ordinator to verify dates and venues.

We had a successful enrolment day on Thurs, 28 Jan, 2021, and because of COVID 19 interruptions to classes in 2020, the enrolment fee was reduced to $20 (just for this year).

Unfortunately, some classes have not been offered because of current COVID rules making them too hard to be workable, or some will be started later, dates TBA. 

 I hope that everyone will appreciate the difficulties that leaders are trying to work around with the ever-changing COVID REQUIREMENTS so that our U3A will still be able to function and provide the friendly socialisation that our groups are famous for !!!

 A new Cryptic Crossword course has been offered, to be commenced later on.  Contact Vivienne directly if you would like to participate and exercise your little grey cells.

Unfortunately, we still have no new leader for the garden group - although we have plenty of people who would like to participate.  If you feel that you would like to be a volunteer leader, please contact our President, Bev Lee Chue

REMEMBER THAT YOU CAN ENROL IN OUR U3A AT ANY TIME OF THE YEAR, AND THEN NEED TO CONTACT GROUP LEADERS FOR ANY COURSE YOU WISH TO UNDERTAKE.

THERE WILL NOT BE A GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT THAT THE INVERELL U3A WILL RECOMMENCE GROUPS ON SUCH  N  SUCH  A DATE.

GROUP LEADERS WILL DECIDE WHEN AND WHERE THEY CAN GET THEIR GROUPS TOGETHER AGAIN ..  THIS WILL LARGELY DEPEND ON THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE PARTICULAR VENUE BEING USED.

Some smaller groups have already started 2 meet again ..  perhaps in a different venue (particularly if they had previously been run at the Library).

I  am not going 2 announce here which groups are now running  ..  AS GOVT REGULATIONS COULD CAUSE CHANGES OVERNIGHT  !!!

Now that we are having many revisions to our Covid19 regulations ..  please contact the co-ordinator of your particular group 2 check when it will recommence.

U3A Online requires a separate joining fee if you wish to enrol and participate in any of their amazing and numerous courses which can be done in your own home.

One of our Inverell U3A members has asked me to recommend a TAFE course in an Australian language in which she has completed Cert 1 and 2.  She found that it was not difficult and gave her a greater understanding of the history of Australia and the Gamilaraay country.

If other members have found a U3A Online or another course which they enjoyed, please let me know & I'll mention it on this page.
